The badminton competitions at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro are planned to happen from 11 to 20 August. Total 172 competitors are going to participate in Badminton Rio Olympics 2016 with five different occasions as men’s singles, Women’s singles and men’s double, Women’s double and missed doubles. Rio Olympic 2016 Badminton going to take place at Riocentro – Pavilion 4.
As last badminton competition in Olympic 2012, this Olympic 2016 is going to happen with the similar format. From the history of badminton in Olympic, 8 time’s badminton game has been played in Olympic.
In the last summer Olympic in 2012 in London, there were 172 badminton players played in the competition in 5 different events. The greater part of the gold medal were won by players from China. China won total 5 gold medals in Olympic 2012. The Chinese group additionally gathered two silvers and one bronze medal, to beat the award table with eight altogether. Denmark completed in second place, with one silver and one bronze won. Japan and Malaysia won 1 silver. South Korea won 1 Bronze. India and Russia won a medal in badminton surprisingly.
In the events of men’s single Olympic Gold medalist were Lin Dan from china. The silver medalist was Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia and Chen Long were Bronze medalists from China.
In Men’s Double Cai Yun and Fu Haifeng were gold medalists from China. Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen were Silver medalists from Denmark and Jung Jae-sung and Lee Yong-Dae were Bronze medalists from South Korea.
Li Xuerui, Wang Yihan, and Saina Nehwal are those women who have won medals in women’s single events came from china and India.
In women’s doubles, Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei were the gold medalist from China. Mizuki Fujii and Reika Kakiiwa were Silver medalists from Japan. Valeria Sorokina and Nina Vislova were bronze medalist from Russia.
In mixed doubles gold medalists Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei came from China. Silver medalists were Xu Chen and Ma Jin also from China and Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen were Bronze medalists came from Denmark.
